About Us

Institute of Banking Studies (IBS)an institution dedicated to the advancement of banking studies in Kerala started its function in the month of August 2008 at Kayamkulam. The inception of this institution was culmination of a long standing need of effective banking education to the elite young generation of Kerala. By and large, the entire population across the length and breadth of Kerala welcomed the institution which was evident by the enthusiasm shown by the public in sending their wards in sizable number of various courses at our institution.

  • Pre-recruitment examination – Clerical and Probationary Officer 

The first batch of students enrolled for bank clerical and probationary officers training in the month of August 2008 and we are proud to announce that the first batch attained 100% success by getting reasonably good score cards in the common written examination. The results of next batches were equally enthusiastic and at present around 150 students are waiting the final results of IBPS examination.

  • Interview coaching for the successful candidates in CWE.

With the introduction of interview by IBPS we took the challenge of preparing the candidates for interview by engaging senior retired bank executives at our centres in Kayamkulam and Ernakulam. The process is successfully going on in our above centres which in fact is a remarkable achievements of our institution.

  • JAIIB/CAIIB Coaching centres for Bank and other financial institutions employees.

The dream of bank employees in Kerala came true by starting the first batch of JAIIB coaching classes in the month of September 2011. A sizable number could attain the goal in the examination. This grant success encouraged us to establish our other coaching centres at Thiruvanathapuram, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Kottarakkara, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.

  • Participation of Muthoot Finance Employees.

We are happy to announce that around 100 Muthoot Finance employees across various regions in Kerala have attended our JAIIB classes at our different centres and they are awaiting the result which is expected within a fortnight. These achievements were made possible by the involvement of a group of highly qualified, efficient and eminent top retired executives of State Bank of Travancore and other various commercial banks.

Milestones in IBS History

The institute commenced its coaching programme in 2011 with 8 JAIIB students. By May 2012 the Institute could coach 45 students for JAIIB and 30 students for CAIIB.The progress of the institute was much faster in November 2012 examinations and 160 candidates for JAIIB and 55 candidates for CAIIB appeared in the examinations.IBS established its Kollam center for the said course.With the tremendous success in the previous batches, IBS established centers at Trivandrum, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Ernakulam and trained 350 bank employees for JAIIB and 120 for CAIIB in May/June 2013. The success resulted in the establishment of 2 more centers Malappuram and Palakad in and enrolment of 480 candidates for JAIIB and 195 for CAIIB for December 2013 batch.In 2014, IBS extended its arms to Tamilnadu and opened three centres at Salem, Coimbatore and Nagercoil. During the year 650 candidates attended our classes for JAIIB and 430 candidates for CAIIB.

In 2015, IBS has spread its wings to other two more states in South India (Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh). In the year, IBS opened two centres in Karnataka (Bangalore and Mangalore), two centres in Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad and Vijayawada), three centres in TamilNadu (Chennai, Trichy and Madurai) and two centres in Kerala (Thiruvalla and Cherthala) there by taking the total number of centres to 23. Over 1600 candidates have attended our classes at these 23 centres for JAIIB and 830 candidates for CAIIB during the year 2015.

In 2016, IBS added three more centers in Karnataka (Mysore, K.R Puram and Rajaji Nagar in Bangalore). During Feb to May 2016, 1320 candidates attended our classes for JAIIB/CAIIB May/June 2016 examination at 26 centres spread over 5 states in South India.
